Ambitions, life's reality..

I remember asking my dad every second day what he had wanted to be when he was a child, and he used to reply,"Let me think... When I was young, I really wanted to be a truck driver." I used to ask him, "Why truck? Why not a car?" And he would reply, "trucks look more grand, don't they?" I know now this was a little joke he enjoyed a lot. I still wonder what his ambitions were, and whether he succeeded in becoming what he wanted to that badly as a kid. He never told me.

When I was a second grader, I really desired to be an astronaut. Then, in sixth standard, I realized that to become one, I would need to know more physics than my brain can probably process, and I switched to music. I used to imagine myself on stage playing the Grand Piano in front of a large audience who had paid to come and watch my show. Yeah, great thought. Definitely too good to be true... So then I decided i wanted to be a great scientist, a thought probably inspired by Professor Utonium (Power Puff Girls, people!). There have been several turns in my life, and surely in everybody else's too... Ambitions surely sound lame, but they teach us so much! Almost everything you learn in life comes from an inspiration. The inspiration to achieve something. That something, is always an ambition.

Life, almost never follows a fixed plan. You don't usually get everything you desire. But then it also never stops you from dreaming. Ambitions are those dreams. Dreams give us hope, and everyone who has read the story of Pandora and her Box of Troubles, will second me in saying that hope is what drives us ahead in life... It drives us towards Adhwann, the path ahead....
